Latest news on OHIM website
|
MARQUES has been actively monitoring the difficulties arising from the launch of the new OHIM website.
|
Various users, including MARQUES members, experienced problems with the website after it was launched on 2nd December.
These have been recognised by OHIM, which has set up a page on the website listing reported errors and the progress being made to rectify them. You can read the latest updates here.
Each issue listed on this page is illustrated with a colour-coded progress bar. There is also detailed information on errors experienced.
OHIM will update the list weekly, and the most recent update was on 24th January. Users can also submit details of other errors experienced.
In the meantime, the MARQUES Trade Mark Law & Practice Team, led by second vice-chair Sofía Martínez-Almeida y Alejos-Pita of Gomez Acebo & Pombo in Madrid, has been working on detailed comments on the website that will be sent to OHIM shortly.
The comments will note that, while MARQUES welcomes the aims behind the new website, many users have been disappointed by the disruptions and malfunctioning during the first weeks of operation.
The paper will list a number of significant issues raised by MARQUES members, illustrated by screenshots from the website.
The Team would like to thank all MARQUES members who have submitted details of their experiences with the new site and welcomes any further comments: please email info@marques.org with the subject line “OHIM website”.
