Lisbon System Working Group report
|
MARQUES was represented by members of the MARQUES Geographical Indications Team (Chair Miguel Angel Medina, Vice-Chair Keri Johnston and Team member Ortrun Günzel) at the Ninth Session of the Working Group on the Development of the Lisbon System (Appellations of Origin) held at WIPO’s headquarters, in Geneva, from 23rd to 27th June. As Keri reports, there was quite a bit of activity on behalf of the United States.

WIPO Mediation and Arbitration Workshops
|
The WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center is hosting two workshops in New York on 6th and 7th November this year.
|
The workshops will take participants through the main stages of the WIPO mediation and arbitration procedures, including case management techniques.
They will present the new 2014 WIPO Rules that came into effect on 1st June 2014, and also cover drafting clauses and submission agreements for IP and technology disputes, including FRAND disputes.
The faculty will include Trevor Cook (WilmerHale), Scott Donahey, Russell Levine (Kirkland & Ellis) and David Perkins.
The workshops are organised in cooperation with the USPTO, LES (USA & Canada) and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (New York branch).
Register for either or both of the workshops on WIPO’s website. CLE and CPD credit will be available.
