“Trade Mark Judges on Trade Mark Law” will be held at the Benelux Office for IP in The Hague on 11th November. The attendance fee is €300 and the one-day meeting will be held in Dutch. The day includes lunch and post-meeting drinks. Details of the programme and speakers are available on the event page on the MARQUES website. “Talks with the Judges from the German Trade Mark Office” will be held in Munich on 20th November. It will be held in German and the fee is €350. More details are available on the event page. Other planned events include: Question the Trade Mark Judges (London, 14th October) Spring Team Meeting (Frankfurt, 3rd-4th March 2016) 30th Annual Conference (Villaitana, Alicante, 20th-23rd September 2016)

CP3 – Distinctiveness of figurative marks available

OHIM is continuing to work along with IP offices across Europe to increase convergence of IP practices. The latest fruit of this labour is the most recently endorsed Common Practice document, CP3: ‘Distinctiveness – Figurative marks containing descriptive/non-distinctive words'.
