Hague Agreement seminar in Copenhagen
The latest in the MARQUES series of events “Mastering the Hague Agreement”, organised in collaboration with WIPO, was presented in Copenhagen on 15 March
The seminar followed a similar format to previous editions held in Munich and Paris. However, the presentations were updated with the latest information, said Peter Gustav Olson – one of the presenters. In his presentation, Peter included a discussion of “dos” and “don’ts” for design registrations. The audience were invited to consider a series of drawings of designs, and say whether they were registrable or not – and if so why, or how they could be fixed. “The feedback we received was that people found it very helpful and worthwhile to get this practical advice,” said Peter. Gregoire Bisson of WIPO also updated his speech on the latest developments regarding the Hague Agreement and in particular the registration of designs in Japan, Korea and the United States.
“We had about 28 attendees, including in-house practitioners and trade mark attorneys in private practice, and they were a very good audience,” said Peter. One of the audience members even said that, based on the seminar, she was considering attending the MARQUES Annual Conference in Paris this year! The next Hague Agreement seminar takes place in London on 18 June.
