EU Judges Meeting, 18 January 2019

Full details of the first MARQUES EU Judges Meeting will be announced at the Annual Conference in September
|
Building on the success of the national Judges Meetings, this new event will bring together judges from Europe’s courts and IP offices to discuss issues in trade mark and design law and practical matters for litigants. Topics include jurisdictional issues in EU trade mark law; the impact of the case law of the CJEU and General Court; views from the courts and Boards of Appeal; and issues concerning complex marks and those with weak or non-distinctive components. Speakers will be drawn from various EU member states, including Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal and the UK. There will also be participants from the EUIPO Boards of Appeal and EU General Court.
