The ARTIS pheno robotic angiography system by Siemens Healthineers won the industry category while the Air.Go 2.0 won in the small and emerging companies category. Each winner was selected from a shortlist of four finalists by a jury comprising designers, design law experts and entrepreneurs.
A lifetime achievement award was also presented to Hartmut Esslinger, the renowned German designer who was worked with companies such as Sony and Apple.
The winners were chosen based on the appeal and commercial success of their designs as well as their use of the RCD system.
MARQUES was represented at the Ceremony by Petra Herkul, Chair of the Anticounterfeiting and Parallel Trade Team. She also attended a Gala on 26 November to mark the 100th anniversary of the Polish Patent Office.
Petra said of the DesignEuropa Awards: “We tend to forget that we are confronted with designs on daily basis. The DesignEuropa awards were a good reminder for this. A wonderful combination of purpose for use and creativity, closing off with the speech of lifetime achievement award winner Hartmut Esslinger calling for creation of designs that make the world a better place.”
She added that the Polish Patent Office Gala included “dancers, dressed up as Marie Curie and Albert Einstein, who guided us through several patents that have changed the world, some of which originate from Poland, as well as magnificent Polish accordion players, singer and pianist and Polish orchestra performing wonderful musical pieces”.
