France: INPI annual report for 2008
Statistics provided in this documents show that the downturn in late 2008 affected trade marks activity: 73 956 new national trade mark applications were filed in 2008 against 74 411 in 2007, which represents a -0.6% decrease.
Prolongation of trade marks lives seem to have been largely preferred to the launching of new ones: renewal of national registrations increased by +18.7%.
