Hear opening remarks by Ms. Wang Binying, Deputy Director General in charge of the Brands and Designs Sector, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), to be followed by updates about the latest developments under the Hague System for the International Registration of Industrial Designs, and the Madrid System, including IT tools for the International Registration of Marks.
Hear special guests from the Trademark Offices of new members of the Madrid Union, Colombia, Mexico and New Zealand talk about their new membership.
Listen to Representatives of the Trademark Offices of Japan, Kenya, the Russian Federation, the United States of America and the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (Trade Marks and Designs) (OHIM) speak about updates of their respective national and regional law and practice with respect to the use of the Madrid system and, in particular, how to handle and avoid notifications of provisional refusal issued by the Offices concerned, and join panel discussion on the issues you are interested in.
The Madrid System Users’ Meeting is designed to offer INTA’s participants an opportunity to interact directly with WIPO Officials and Representatives from the above selected trade mark Offices on various aspects of the Madrid system.
