Spain - Rate reduction by the Spanish Patents and Trade Marks Office.
The Spanish Patents and Trademarks Office (OEPM, in Spanish) has established a rate reduction of more than 9% for 2011. This reduction, as indicated by the OEPM on itsweb site www.oepm.es, comes as a result of its policy of support for the manufacturing and innovation sector of the Spanish economy, giving access to Intellectual Property especially for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises). Consequently, as an example, rates paid at offices before the OEPM relating to trademark registration in a given class range from€ 154.38 to€ 138.94, whilst rates for renewal range from€ 178.73 to€ 160.86.
