Italian Police cracks down on counterfeits.
The website of the Italian PTO reports that last month in the South of Italy (in Palermo, Sicily) millions of counterfeited watches, bracelets of famous fashion brands (amongst which GUESS, JUST CAVALLI, BULGARI, LOUIS VUITTON, D&G) but also health-threatening counterfeit HELLO KITTY gadgets for children were seized in a shop managed by a Chinese citizen.
In total, 9 milion articles were seized and a criminal complaint filed against the shop owner.
In addition, over 250 million of articles originating from China but unlawfully bearing the wording MADE IN ITALY have been seized in Friuli, in the North of Italy.
