Grand Duchy ratifies Singapore pact
Sometimes it is important to remind one of one's inherent importance and legal status. If this is true of people, it is even more so for countries. Luxembourg is among the smallest nations in Europe and, while it has monarchistic pretensions, it isn't even a Kingdom; it's just a Duchy. However, Luxembourg is not any old Duchy -- it's a Grand Duchy, and there aren't many of them left. In fact, if Wikipedia is to be believed, Luxembourg is the only remaining Grand Duchy in the world.
Anyway, this Grand Duchy still has an important part to play on the world stage. Apart from having the honour of hosting the Court of Justice of the European Union, Luxembourg has been busily ratifying the Singapore Treaty, as can be seen from the WIPO media release reproduced below:

The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg being a Member State of the Benelux Organization for Intellectual Property, the said Treaty will enter into force, with respect to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg at a later date, in accordance with Articles 26 and 28 of the said Treaty.
