MARQUES congratulates Joao Negrao on appointment as EUIPO Executive Director
João Negrão (pictured) has been chosen as the next EUIPO Executive Director, succeeding Christian Archambeau.
Mr Negrão, a Portuguese national, won the majority of votes of the EU Council at their recent meeting. His appointment is due to be approved on 24 July and he will take office on 1 October 2023 for a five-year term.
He is currently President of the EUIPO Boards of Appeal, a position he has held since April 2021.
MARQUES extends congratulations to Mr Negrão on his appointment. We very much look forward to developing our cooperation with the EUIPO during his term of office.
MARQUES also wishes to express our most sincere thanks to Mr Archambeau for the very important achievements accomplished by the Office during his term, including the promotion of cooperation between the Office and users through user involvement and consultations. We send Mr Archambeau best wishes for the future.
