Reminder: IP Mediation Conference and Europol IP Crime Conference
As mentioned on this blog earlier this year, there are two upcoming conferences that may be of interest to Class 46 readers and/or colleagues.
IP Mediation Conference
On 19 and 20 October, the EUIPO Boards of Appeal and EUIPO Academy will host the IP Mediation Conference 2023 in Alicante. This will be the fourth edition of this popular event and you can join in person or virtually.
The programme focuses on the practical aspects of mediation as an incentive for businesses and legal counsel. It will cover four main areas:
- Mediation policy developments in the EU and beyond
- The Big Buy-In
- Hands-on mediation
- Reality check on tech and AI in ADR
More information is available on EUIPO’s website here. The registration deadline is 12 October.
Europol IP Crime Conference
The annual Europol IP Crime Conference will take place in Lisbon on 26 and 27 October and is organised jointly by Europol, EUIPO, the Portuguese Economic and Food Safety Authority (ASAE), and the Portuguese Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP)
This will be the fifth edition of the conference and will involve experts from law enforcement, the private sector and academia. The theme will be tackling counterfeit goods that pose a threat to health, safety and the environment, with a focus on the use of advanced technology in IP crime.
There is no registration fee for the conference. A registration link is not yet available but should be published soon on the Europol website.
