New CTM e-filing system "faster and simpler"
The new CTM e-filing system officially went live on 1 February 2009. According to information published on the OHIM's website the new system is
"... providing faster and simpler interface for filing Community trade marks. E-filing is now the first choice of well over 80% of OHIM trade mark users. Following user feedback the system has been streamlined and improved. It includes a host of new features including the ability to save and restore draft CTM applications from the MyPage personalised web service. There is a faster submission process and the automatic generation of a receipt that you can print or save. Improved error checking helps ensure that users put in the correct data, and there are helpful aids for the introduction of goods and services."
German lawyer and blogger Dennis Sevriens has already tested the new system and has blogged about his experiences. It is interesting to note that he experienced some technical difficulties before successfully submitting his application. His report can be retrieved here (in German).
