Finland: Status update on IPR centralization
As reported earlier, the Finnish Ministry of Justice has established a committee which is to prepare a proposal for centralizing all IPR litigation at the Market Court, including matters currently being handled by the Board of Appeal of the National Board of Patents and Registration (NBPR).
Now the committee has approached trade mark attorneys and others having been exposed to the workings of the Board of Appeal with a questionnaire study. The study aims to obtain insight into how the Boards of Appeal has been handling IPR matters, and also how matters should be handled at the Market Court in the future.
Responses to the study are to be submitted by October 2, 2009.
As always, we shall keep you updated on further developments.
