Almost one million dot FR
AFNIC, the registry in charge of the .fr ccTLD, has released its first report on the French domain names market.
The number of .fr domain name registrations has risen fast lately, especially since conditions for their registration were facilitated by two reforms (in 2004 and 2006), while prices dropped. On 1 October 2007 there were over 915,000 domains registered under France's extension, 260,000 of which were registered by individuals.
The report includes statistics on various aspects of domain names, with comparative charts that match France's data to other European countries.
Published in French only, the report can be downloaded here (Acrobat file - 5,8 Mo - 92 pages).
