New OHIM Examination Guideline for Community trade marks
The Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market (OHIM) on 8 July issued Decision EX-15-2 of the President adopting revised Guidelines for Examination on Community trade marks and registered Community designs. This is a formidable document of 616 pages, in which the words "trade mark" appear no fewer than 1,008 times. Fortunately you don't have to read it all in one go. It doesn't have much of a storyline but, if you read it carefully and take it to heart, your office actions might have a happy ending.
