New WIPO publication: The work of the Hague Conference on private international law in relation to the enforcement of intellectual property rights
An new WIPO publication titled "The work of the Hague Conference (HCCH) on private international law in relation to the enforcement of intellectual property rights" discusses global and cross-border Intellectual Property rights enforcement.
From the abstract:
- The Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) is an intergovernmental organization working towards the unification of private interntional law (PIL).
- Its mandate extends to any aspect of PIL, including cross-border co-operation in a broad array of civil and commercial matters.
- It is also active in matters relating to cross-border enforcement of intellectual property (IP).
- PIL Conventions and other instruments facilitate the cross-border enforcement of IP and contribute to global IP protection: the report illustrates how the HCCH may contribute to the goal of effectively addressing the intersection between PIL and IP law, in particular by advancing work with regard to the cross-border enforcement of IP rights.
A worthwhile read for those interested or concerned with IP enforcement.
