11.15 | PART 6 - IN A CHANGING WORLD DO “TAX HAVENS” HAVE A FUTURE? The past five years have seen significant changes in the global tax environment. The next couple of years are likely to be equally significant, with intellectual property driving much of the debate. Traditionally, many companies held their valuable IP in “tax havens”. With an increasing alignment between where a company carries out its activities and its taxable profits, where does that leave the role of a tax haven? Are we likely to see a shift of IP away from traditional tax havens to “onshore” locations? What will drive these decisions and what will it mean for a company’s tax bill? |
