The 2024 MARQUES Annual Conference will be held in Stockholm. Stockholm is the largest city in Scandinavia and effortlessly intertwines a rich history and stunning nature with the cultural sophistication, modern architecture, and dynamic attitudes of a thriving city.
The role of trade mark experts is becoming more and more complex, as they have to navigate new challenges ranging from emerging technologies and business models to regulations regarding advertising and sustainability.
This year’s Annual Conference sessions will cover
diverse topics including: litigation and public opinion; working in areas
outside your comfort zone; understanding local traditions; navigating
consumer values; successful online enforcement; how to demonstrate market
realities before EUIPO; visual disclaimers in designs; and the latest EU
case law on trade marks and designs. There will also be workshops on
artificial intelligence, trade secrets, co-branding, copyright in IP
enforcement and amicus curiae briefs.
Once again, we will also have a full suite of additional workshops which you
can choose to attend on the Thursday afternoon.

ACCOMMODATION
The
Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel is attached to the conference centre and our
overflow hotels, the
Radisson Blu Royal Viking and the Nordic Light Hotel are a short 5
minute walk away through Stockholm Central Railway Station.
Located in the heart of Stockhom City Centre our hotels provide easy access
to ur conference venue as well as local amenities such as shops, boutiques, bars, restaurants
and
several historical sights.
Accommodation will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Subject to availability, special rates have been negotiated for delegates wishing to extend their stay either before or after the Conference. Rates quoted are inclusive of breakfast.
AIRPORT TRANSFERS
This year we advise all delegates arriving in Stockholm at
Arlanda Airport to make the transit to Stockholm City Centre via the Arlanda Express to
Stockholm Central Railway Station.
MARQUES has agreed a reduction in cost
for our delegates using this service and further details will be provided
with your joining instructions.
NON-RESIDENTIAL AND MODULAR
REGISTRATIONS
We are able to offer those delegates who choose to source their
own accommodation or those who live locally, modular participation in both
the conference seminars and the social activities.
We have organised an exciting social programme and attendance at these functions is restricted to registered delegates and registered partners only. Unfortunately we are unable to offer registrations for social functions only.
Tuesday 24th September
Relax and enjoy meeting up with colleagues and new acquaintances alike at
our informal Welcome Reception being held at the Stockholm City Hall.

Wednesday 25th September
Our Cultural Evening will be held in the beautiful Artipelag. This stunning
venue for art, culture, design and delicious food is located among the pine
trees of Värmdö in the Stockholm archipelago.
Our arrival will be by coach and will provide the opportunity to alight
early at the start of the Coastal Boardwalk, a comfortable 10 minute walking
journey through primeval woods, over the rocks, and alongside the open,
glittering water, arriving at the Atipelag’s west entrance.. and look out
for the giant Golden Egg on the way!

Thursday 26th September
Our Signature Gala Dinner Evening will be held in the Radisson Blu
Waterfront with dancing till the
early hours.
Dress Code: Black Tie/Tuxedo/Formal
Certificates of Attendance for Delegates, indicating the number of hours of educational content, can be issued on request to the MARQUES Secretariat. For those jurisdictions which require it, provisions will be made for registration of attendance at individual sessions.
REGISTRATION FEES
Members of MARQUES are offered an 'Early
Bird Discount' for registration for full residential or non-residential
packages booked by Friday 28th June 2024.
Please note that early registration is strongly recommended.
