The 2025 MARQUES Annual Conference will be held in The Hague. The Hague is known as the administrative capital and seat of the Dutch government. The Hague is famous for being home to the United Nations' International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of Arbitration, making it a global centre for peace and justice. The Hague is located on the west coast of the country, and is the third-largest city in the Netherlands.
Protecting, commercialising and defending brands internationally has become more complex and demanding as IP rights owners have to navigate a range of legal and business challenges amid rapidly changing political and economic developments.
This year's MARQUES Annual Conference sessions will focus on brand changes in an international context. Sessions will cover a wide range of topics including: the impact of external factors on IP work; brands in international trade; the rise of sustainability; international jurisdiction in trademark litigation; brands in international M&A; brand revivals; and the latest CJEU and EU General Court case law.
This year's Annual Conference will include seven interactive workshops for delegates to participate in as well as the opportunity to attend a special meeting at the Europol headquarters.
We are delighted to welcome you to the 2025 MARQUES Annual Conference, The Hague, The Netherlands where the theme of this year's conference will focus on 'Brand Changes in an International Context'!
