Trade names in Ecuador and Portugal
The MARQUES Unfair Competition Team has added new reports on the protection of company names, trade names and other business identifiers in Ecuador and Portugal.
These are two of a series of articles on different jurisdictions published as part of the Team’s trade name project.
All the articles can be downloaded from the Team’s page on the MARQUES website (log-in required).
The article on Ecuador is written by María Rosa Fabara Vera of Bustamante Fabara SAS and the one on Portugal by Nuno Cruz of J Pereira da Cruz SA.
The previously published articles cover Argentina, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, The Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain, Taiwan and the UK. Each report provides summary information on protection each jurisdiction in a clear and accessible format.
The project is being led by Sascha Abrar of LÖFFEL ABRAR and Karin Pomaizlova of Taylor Wessing. They have co-authored a comprehensive multi-jurisdiction study on this topic, which is also available to download from the Team's page.
More reports on other jurisdictions will be published by the Team in due course. To find out more, contact a member of the Team or speak to them if you are attending the Spring Meeting in Frankfurt.
